Introduction

Marius Eckerle ("us," "we," or "our") operates an application called Pokefolio ("Application"). Our basic service is offered free of charge, while we may also offer paid subscriptions for advanced features.

Pokefolio helps you track and manage your Pokémon TCG collection and portfolio. We store your collection data securely and calculate portfolio analytics on our servers to provide you with market insights and investment tracking.

While we make every effort to handle your data responsibly, we cannot be held accountable for accidental data sharing caused by user error or similar incidents. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices and commitments to your privacy.

Understanding and Accepting the Policy

By accessing or using any part of Pokefolio, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy. If you don't fully agree with these terms, we respectfully ask that you refrain from using Pokefolio.

Personal Information We Collect

We collect only the personal information necessary to provide our services or to enhance our product.

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address and display name
  • Authentication credentials
  • Profile preferences and in-app settings

This information allows us to operate Pokefolio, personalize your experience, and provide customer support.

Portfolio & Collection Data

We store the following data on our servers to provide portfolio analytics and market intelligence:

  • Your user ID (for data association)
  • Portfolio value and historical performance
  • Cards in your portfolio with quantities and values
  • Top holdings and gain/loss calculations
  • Collection completion statistics

This data is necessary to calculate and display your portfolio performance, market trends, and investment insights.

Notification Preferences

If you enable price alerts or product notifications, we store:

  • Your device token for sending push notifications
  • Products you're tracking for price changes
  • Your notification preferences

This data is linked to your user ID and stored on our servers to deliver timely alerts about price changes and market opportunities.

Card Scanning Data

When you use our AI-powered card scanning feature, card images are sent to our servers for processing. Scan images are stored without any personally identifying metadata and are used solely to improve our recognition algorithms. Images are retained for no longer than 12 months before being permanently deleted or fully anonymized.

Usage Insights

We collect analytics data to help us improve Pokefolio. This data includes:

  • User Segmentation: Collector type, portfolio value tier, engagement level
  • Collection Activity: Cards added (including card details, method, variant, price, condition, grading status), collection milestones, completion percentages
  • Portfolio Activity: Items added or removed, chart interactions, currency switches
  • Search Behavior: Search queries, result counts, filters used, search duration
  • Navigation: Deep link opens, button taps, feature usage
  • Technical Data: App version, platform, device model, errors and crashes

This analytics data helps us understand how users interact with Pokefolio, which features are most valuable, and where we can improve the experience.

Product Feedback

We collect the content of any feedback, feature request, or issue report you submit through Pokefolio. You may choose to include diagnostic information during this process.

Contact Information

If you email us, we store your email address along with the content and attachments of your message.

Third-Party Services

Supabase

RevenueCat

OpenAI

When you use our card grading feature, card images are sent to OpenAI's API for real-time analysis to detect language and grading information. We do not permanently store these images on our servers after processing. View OpenAI Privacy Policy

We do not share, sell, or rent your personal data to third parties for their marketing purposes. We only share data with the services listed above as necessary to operate Pokefolio.

Our Use of Your Personal Information

We primarily use your personal information to provide and improve the services offered through Pokefolio. We do not use your personal information for marketing or third-party advertising.

Powering the Application's Services: Your data enables us to provide core functionalities including portfolio analytics, market trends, collection tracking, and price alerts.

Communication: We may use your contact information to respond to inquiries, provide technical support, or notify you of updates or changes to our services.

Product Feedback: Your feedback helps us understand your perspective and make necessary improvements to Pokefolio.

Improving the Product: Usage insights allow us to understand how users interact with Pokefolio and which features are most popular, helping us improve the application and tailor it to meet user needs effectively.

Payment Processing

We offer optional paid subscriptions for additional features within the Pokefolio app. All payments are processed securely through the Apple App Store, ensuring your financial information is handled with utmost care and privacy.

When you make a purchase, the Apple App Store may collect certain financial information from you, such as your credit card number and billing address, to process your payment. Please note that Pokefolio does not have access to your financial details during this transaction.

Consent to Share Consumption Data with Apple

By using our app and making in-app purchases, you consent to our sharing of data regarding your usage and consumption of purchased content with Apple, as part of our efforts to resolve refund requests. This information may include details about how you have accessed and interacted with the purchased content. We ensure that such data sharing is done in compliance with Apple's policies and only as necessary to process your requests.

Data Security

Your personal information's security is of utmost importance to us. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Secure HTTPS connections for all data transmission
  • Encrypted database storage on our servers

  • Least-privilege access controls

  • Portfolio & Collection Data: Retained on our servers until you request deletion
  • Scan Images: Retained for a maximum of 12 months before being permanently deleted or fully anonymized
  • Email Communications: You can contact us at any time to request deletion

Important: When you delete the Pokefolio app, your portfolio and collection data on our servers is not automatically removed. To delete this data, please contact us at help@pokefolio.app with your request.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data we hold
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your data from our servers
  • Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format

You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the Application. You may also opt-out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in any promotional message.

Children's Privacy

Pokefolio is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at help@pokefolio.app.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Should any updates be made, a notice will be provided in the Pokefolio app. Your continued use of Pokefolio after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
